2.4 GHz multifunctional software-defined radar sensor system


We have designed and manufactured the 2.4 GHz radar sensor system that is suitable for a variety of applications. Applications:

  • Noncontact vital sign detection: wireless detection of respiration and heartbeat.
  • Wireless healthcare: respiration/heart rate monitoring and diagnosis.
  • Home security surveillance: human activities monitoring.
  • Wireless measurement of rotational movements.
  • Accurate displacement measurement: both frequency and amplitude.

Specifications:

  • Frequency: 2.4 GHz. Output power: 0 dBm.
  • Power consumption: 125 mA @ 5 V. External 5-8 V power cord or onboard 4-AAA batteries.
  • Range: up to 5 m.
  • Data collection: external data aquisition system, or wireless data transmission with a rate up to 500 samples/second and a range over 1 km.
  • LabView interface for real-time signal processing and visualization.
