Here is information on the courses I teach most often.


GEOG 1401 Physical Geography.  This is a lower division lab science course concentrating on the wonders of physical geography, with three hours of lecture and two hours of lab per week. Here is the syllabus: GEOG1401SyllabusF10.pdf

GEOG 3335 Field Seminar in Physical Geography and GEOG 5304 Advanced Physical Geography (for graduate students). See Junction Class page.


GEOG 4300 Seminar in Geography.  A “capstone” course for geography majors.


GEOG 4301 Geomorphology in Environmental Management and GEOG 5304 Advanced Physical Geography (for graduate students). Landforms and the processes that make them, with an emphasis on human impact.


GEOG 4357 Geography of Arid Lands and GEOG 5306 Seminar in the Geography of Arid Lands. Concentrates on the physical geography of the arid and semiarid regions.


GEOG 4310 Internship in Geography. Students gain practical experience in a geography-related job or project.


HONS 2406 Honors Integrated Science II. I teach the earth science half of this course for Honors students, the rest is life science.


IS 1100 “Tech Transitions.” A one unit class for incoming freshmen on how to survive (or better yet, thrive) at Texas Tech University.


IS 5304 The Nature of Science for Teachers. This class introduces teachers to what science is and how it is done and is part of two programs:
