Three undergraduate researchers (Khoi Ly,
Jessie Opella, and Abigail S. Holmes) from the HCDR Lab have been selected to
receive travel awards for the 14th Annual Regional National Occupational Research Agenda
(NORA) Young/New Investigators Symposium to present their research (March
23, 2016) The HCDR Lab's patient fall study received the “Interior Design Educators Council 2015 Scholarship Excellence Award” (March 15, 2016). The HCDR Lab received an NSF REU Site grant (Feb. 20, 2016). The REU Site website. Dr. Yang will participate a workshop organized by the Nordic Network for the Integration of Music Informatics, Performance and Aesthetics (NNIMIPA) in conjunction with the 10 International Symposium on Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research (CMMR), October 15-18, 2013, Marseille, France. Jared at the HCDR Lab just received "The Graduate Student of the Year Award" from the Graduate School, TTU (July 10, 2013). Prasad successfully defended his MS thesis. Congratulations Prasad!. Prasad will move to Cummins Inc. at Tennesse to start his new job. (June 26, 2013). Dr. Yang was invited to serve on International Advisory Board for Automotive Technology (i-ABAT), North America Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers (NACSAE). (April 24, 2013). Dr. Yang and Prasad attended the 2013 SAE World Congress. Dr. Yang gave a keynote talk and Prasad presented his paper. Congratulations to Zhipeng as the Student Research Paper Winner at the ISRP Conference in Boston. The paper's title is Computational Fluid Dynamics-Based Respirator Fit Prediction-A Pilot Study. This award includes a $2,000 US Dollar cash prize, free conference registration for the ISRP Boston 2012 Conference, round trip airfare to Boston, up to five night hotel accommodation and publication in the ISRP Journal (June 2012). Zhipeng and Aimee attended the AHFE conference in San Francisco (July 2012). Congratulations to Aimee for receiving the 2012 Honors Collaborative Learning Award, Texas Tech University (May 2012). Dr. Yang received a most influential professor award in 2012 in TTU. joined the HCDR Lab on July 16, 2009 as a PhD student. Dr. Xuguang Wang visited the HCDR Lab in July to collaborate with Dr. Yang on digital human modeling research for two weeks. Dr. Yang was awarded a research grant from National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in June 2009. Dr. Yang attended the CAD'09 Conference June 8-12, 2009, at Reno, Nevada, USA. On May 15, 2009, James Long joined the HCDR Lab. Jichang was awarded a travel fund from Texas Tech University. Congrats to Jichang for receiving the James Douglas and Mary Hazlewood Memorial Fellowship for the academic year 2009-2010. Jichang's paper entitled "Simulating the Interaction between a Respirator and a Headform Using LS-DYNA" is accepted by Computer-Aided Design and Applications. Congrats Jichang for the nice work! On Jan. 14, 2009, Kyle King joined the HCDR Lab. Dr. Yang attended the 52nd Car Crash Conference in San Antonio, November 1-5, 2008. On Sept. 10, 2008, Jerad Gragg joined the HCDR Lab. On Sept. 2, 2008, Jichang Dai joined the HCDR Lab. On August 27, Dr. Yang received a grant from Caterpillar, Inc. On August 15, 2008, The Human-Centric Design Research Lab was launched.
