LTC Robert Buscher Professor of Military Science |

VITA LTC Buscher was commissioned at the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1987. He began his service as an Infantry officer serving as an Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader, an Anti-tank Platoon Leader and an Infantry Support Platoon Leader in the 2-7th Infantry Battalion, 24th Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. During Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, LTC Buscher served as an Infantry Company Executive Officer in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. After attending the officer advanced course and assignment as a Military Intelligence officer, he was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii were he served as an Infantry Battalion S-2 Intelligence Officer, the Division Intelligence Collection Manager and the Division Deputy G-2. He then transferred to Kunia, Hawaii were he served as a Company Commander in the 733 Military Intelligence Battalion, Kunia Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC). After Dutch language training, LTC Buscher served as a Foreign Area Officer assigned to the U.S. Embassy in The Netherlands. His following posting was to Brussels, Belgium where he attended the Belgian Command and General Staff Course. LTC Buscher was next assigned to Ft. Huachuca, Arizona were he served as S-3 Operations Officer of the 309th Military Intelligence Battalion and as Chief of Concepts, Directorate of Combat Development, at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center. His last assignment was as Army Director of Operations for the 128th Airborne Command and Control Squadron (JSTARS), Robins Air Force Base, Georgia from where he has deployed on three rotations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
