In Iraq Doc Cannon was one of two docs or Corpsman my platoon had. We had three squads so those two docs swapped back and forth when we went on patrol. I loved going out with Doc, because we would always have fun. He always kept me laughing doing funny stuff and telling jokes I won’t repeat. But on a serious note, I watched him save the life of a man who was shot three times with bullets in the back and legs. Doc then helped me and our platoon sergeant, SSGT Charley load the man in the helo and he lived, despite his wounds and losing over a liter of blood. So I never was scared with Mark around watching my back. A corpsman that good is hard to find, and one that's that good and a great friend with an awesome attitude... hell I don't know if there's too many out there at all.
