This site is dedicated to detailing my PhD dissertation in the Technical Communication and Rhetoric program at Texas Tech University.
My research involves the application of both video and audio podcasting and the use of related handheld devices in the field of technical communication. I intend to research such application in both the industry and academic settings, considering potential uses, delivery methods, and the future of these tools in the field.
In addition to considering how these tools can be applied, I am interested in the design decisions and rhetorical choices that go into creating podcasts for the purposes of documentation, workplace training, on-site instruction, and academic education. Finally, I will look at what impact the use of podcasting and related tools could have on the field of technical communication.
Beyond my research into the areas noted, this site also provides an overview of Podcasting and a short tutorial on how to make a podcast. Additionally, I offer a page of links on quality sites to download podcasts, to learn more about the topic and how to create and enhance your podcasts, and links to the resources that I have found useful in my own research. |
