Undergraduate
Students
Are you interested in
learning about research on animal behavior? Do you want to get some
research experience? I am looking for students interested in helping
me with on-going projects as well as developing new ones. Students
will be trained in experimental design, sound analysis and data
collection. Contact me to discuss
joining the lab!
Graduate Students
Applicants should be independent and highly motivated.
Research and/or field experience is also a plus. I encourage
students to develop their own research projects depending upon their
interests. Students interested in my general research of interests
are encourage to contact me, but you do not have to work on
the same questions/species I am working on. However, if you feel
particularly attracted or have exciting ideas to develop on
frog-biting midges, you are also welcome to join the endeavor of
understanding the amazing group of eavesdroppers.
Most graduate
students at TTU receive a stipend through teaching assistantships
(TA). There are also University-wide fellowships that are generally
based on GRE/GPA.
If you are
interested in joining the lab,
email me a CV. Please
also include a statement of your research interests and
accomplishments. I will contact you to talk about your experience
and career goals so we can determine if you would be a good match.
Interested students should contact me during the fall semester so we
can discuss the possibilities and if we decide to move forward with
the application process, you can submit your complete application by
mid-January. I will not consider applicants that cannot be make this
deadline since all the deadlines for the university and departmental
fellowships are shortly after that.
Postdocs
Teaching postdocs are
offered by the Biology Department. If you have strong
interests in developing your teaching abilities or just love
teaching, this would be a good opportunity! In addition to teaching,
you would be expected to develop a research project. Please
contact me to discuss
research projects.
Seeking external
funding to develop a postdoctoral project is also possible. If you
are interested in developing a project together, please
contact me
to discuss possible ideas and potential funding sources.
